With July 24th only days away, where thousands of same-sex couples in New York will marry, The Wedding Salon celebrated this historic occasion with the bridal event of the summer on July 20th at Capitale. Working in collaboration with key gay wedding websites including GayWeddings.com and numerous LGBT Certified Vendors, The Wedding Salon made wedding dreams come to life for all couples alike.
“We were thrilled to be able to celebrate this historic occasion with some of the top names in weddings including Sylvia Weinstock, Shawn Rabideau and Kleinfeld! With Forbes estimating that gay marriages can potentially boost the overall wedding industry by over $9.5 billion per year and $184 million expected in net spending over the next three years in New York alone, the impact to gay marriage on the wedding industry is unprecedented. We were proud to make a statement showing our support for gay marriage and pride as New Yorkers,” says Wedding Salon Founder and renowned Celebrity Event Planner, Tatiana Byron.
The biggest names in the weddings industry exceeded expectations at this one-night event. Kleinfeld MEN showcased their classic tuxedos for the traditional groom and modern designs for the more fashion-forward groom. Showcasing peak lapels, Swarovski accents, morning tails, silk ties, pocket ties and diamond studded cuff-links, Kleinfeld MEN showed that “It’s not all about the bride” especially with the new horizon of gay marriage. Matthew Williamson additionally showed their support for gay marriage by dressing a lesbian couple in couture wedding gowns underneath a crystal canopy. This canopy became the focal point for the celebration of gay marriage at The Wedding Salon, as the two brides stood on a rainbow aisle runner constructed by Jerry Sibal Design Fusion.

Another must-have at weddings will be mini-mini cupcakes as shown by Baked by Melissa, mini-skewered Hors D’Ouevres as displayed by LGBT certified Cocktail Caterers, and LED lighting from cake tables to glow bars. Engaged couples will also look to elements of fun to truly celebrate their weddings in the season ahead by hiring caricature artists to sketch favors and Photo Book Flip Books for guests, another must, Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt Dessert Bars.
