Featured in Bridal Guide Magazine : Lavender Love with Lemons

this is the new home for Brenda's Wedding Blog

I am super duper excited to share this news with you - I am featured in the currently issue of Bridal Guide Magazine {which is on newsstands until Jan 17th, 2012} along with the amazing talents of Aleah and Nick of Valley & Co. and Shannon of Shannon Lee Images. The lavender photo shoot graces the Party Planner pages of Bridal Guide with a 3 page spread and was held at the breathtaking Keys Creek Lavender Farm. A huge thank you to Alicia for welcoming us to her beautiful farm for this spectacular photo shoot that I created all the paper goods for . . . invitation, dessert tags, place cards, advice cards, drink tags and more. Below, you can see a preview of the pages in the magazine followed by more photos from the rustic-chic lavender inspired bridal shower. And, all of the paper goods are available for purchase in my etsy shop, Wedding Girl. Please be sure to pick up your copy of the Jan/Feb issue of Bridal Guide Magazine to see the full scoop on this lavender infused bridal shower.

From Aleah . . . "the shoot was a mix and match of rustic, natural elements like burlap, linen and twine with vintage French scalloped-edge china and antique crystal and silver."

Instead of flags on straws for the drinks, we used festive "Cheers" and "Enjoy" drink tags that were tied on mason jars with twine.

A Glamorous Yellow and Pink Wedding Candy Buffet with Pearls + Beads

Remember when I said this month was all about the colors yellow, grey, black and maybe another color thrown in for fun? Well, we're ending the month with an amazing candy buffet that features yellow and a bit of grey with a hot pink background. Such a striking color combo. This spectacular display comes from Kristina of Princess Wedding Co. Kristina joins us today to share a few tips on creating a great candy buffet yourself. I will now turn it over to Kristina . . .

I have been a fan of candy buffets for many years and I thought that I would share a few tips on creating a great candy buffet if you want to do it yourself.  However, there are some companies nationwide that provide the services for you.

Main thing to remember when creating a candy display is to stick with 1- 3 colors. It will create an elegant and chic look. Choose many clear glass containers that are different shapes and sizes. Also use colored ribbon around vases to add accent.  You can use any candy for the buffet (TIP: lollipops, m&m’s, and round gum always look fabulous). Candy can be used as yummy favors for your guest to take home and adds fun for the guests. So remember to provide containers for your guest to put candy in. Those containers may be Chinese paper boxes (TIP: add silk ribbon, for extra effect), mini metal bins, or mini glass containers.

Candy buffets adds a beautiful touch to any event. Be creative and have fun with it.

A Sunday Canary Yellow Wedding in Ohio with DIY florals by the bride

[Columbus, OH]

Today's canary yellow wedding of Tessa and Corey was filled with diy details. The bride {with the help of family, friends, the Flower Factory and Michaels Craft Store} created all of the centerpieces, flowers and decorations. And, the bridesmaids dresses were a lovely yellow shade of canary. Tessa writes . . . "The bridesmaid dresses and MOB dress was found at David's Bridal. One of my bridesmaids lives in North Carolina, and the other in Cincinnati. Since we were unable to all get together to go shopping we found their dresses online and were very pleased with the delivery and ease of ordering online! The girls loved their dresses and they were all so beautiful!"

Somewhere over the rainbow - it's a black + yellow Colorado Wedding

Today's beautiful black and yellow Colorado wedding was photographed by Maria of StudioSister Photography. Such great pops of the yellow color with a yummy candy table. During the reception, the DJ grabbed Maria to let her know there was a rainbow outside. Wait until you see the last photo to see the spectacular shot that was captured of the bride and groom {Erin & TJ}.

The brides "something blue" was her heels with a gorgeous rhinestone on each.

An elegant black and yellow Orlando, FL wedding with sunflowers + killer heels

Today's gorgeous wedding of Fern and Derrick from Pilster Photography showcases how amazing black and yellow look together. Just look at those sunflowers and those stunning high heels on the ladies. And, the Maggie Sottero gown looks stunning on Fern, the bride.

After the reception had been going on for a while, Chad decided it was time to take some portraits of Fern and Derrick. As they walked to the cake shop across the street there was a door open to a venue {which is currently kind of in flux} that is now called Cheyenne Salon and Opera House. As Chad writes . . . "This is the type of place that you think only exists in a western movie. There is a staircase in the middle of the building that goes up three stories. The bars are all wood with spinning stools in front of them. I hope that they reopen this place, it has some amazing potential!"

And, now we head back to the reception . . .
