A Quick and Easy Halloween Wreath DIY

Happy Halloween. I just had to share this fun and quick DIY I created over the weekend. And, it was created for just a little over $10. I had found the most amazing sparkly and feathery material on clearance at Joann's. Since it wasn't quite the total length I had planned on getting, the sales clerk reduced the price and gave it to me for 50 cents a yard. A total bargain.

I simply started with the styrofoam wreath form and found a roll of different patterned material that had the perfect floral orange for Halloween. I used 2 of the fabric strips and kept wrapping tightly around and secured with pins. I had a bit of extra space where the material didn't quite meet - so I used that area to create a fabric hanger using a different fabric strip. I then wrapped the black fabric around leaving space for the orange to show thru. And, voilá - I have a fun little wreath to greet the neighbors with this afternoon. And, I even have more material in a pretty brown and more in a nice spring shade of blue. Just enough to make more wreaths for the other seasons :)

A Glamorous Yellow and Pink Wedding Candy Buffet with Pearls + Beads

Remember when I said this month was all about the colors yellow, grey, black and maybe another color thrown in for fun? Well, we're ending the month with an amazing candy buffet that features yellow and a bit of grey with a hot pink background. Such a striking color combo. This spectacular display comes from Kristina of Princess Wedding Co. Kristina joins us today to share a few tips on creating a great candy buffet yourself. I will now turn it over to Kristina . . .

I have been a fan of candy buffets for many years and I thought that I would share a few tips on creating a great candy buffet if you want to do it yourself.  However, there are some companies nationwide that provide the services for you.

Main thing to remember when creating a candy display is to stick with 1- 3 colors. It will create an elegant and chic look. Choose many clear glass containers that are different shapes and sizes. Also use colored ribbon around vases to add accent.  You can use any candy for the buffet (TIP: lollipops, m&m’s, and round gum always look fabulous). Candy can be used as yummy favors for your guest to take home and adds fun for the guests. So remember to provide containers for your guest to put candy in. Those containers may be Chinese paper boxes (TIP: add silk ribbon, for extra effect), mini metal bins, or mini glass containers.

Candy buffets adds a beautiful touch to any event. Be creative and have fun with it.

For the afternoon, I have part one of a wedding feature. Next month will be the second part as the wedding of Surswatie & Rakesh was a cultural one. The color palette of their Indian wedding is just perfect with the November colors we'll be showcasing. The couple had been together for over 7 years and their wedding was held at the Jersey City Hyatt. Photography by Tina of KSD Weddings.

A Sunday Canary Yellow Wedding in Ohio with DIY florals by the bride

[Columbus, OH]

Today's canary yellow wedding of Tessa and Corey was filled with diy details. The bride {with the help of family, friends, the Flower Factory and Michaels Craft Store} created all of the centerpieces, flowers and decorations. And, the bridesmaids dresses were a lovely yellow shade of canary. Tessa writes . . . "The bridesmaid dresses and MOB dress was found at David's Bridal. One of my bridesmaids lives in North Carolina, and the other in Cincinnati. Since we were unable to all get together to go shopping we found their dresses online and were very pleased with the delivery and ease of ordering online! The girls loved their dresses and they were all so beautiful!"

Somewhere over the rainbow - it's a black + yellow Colorado Wedding

Today's beautiful black and yellow Colorado wedding was photographed by Maria of StudioSister Photography. Such great pops of the yellow color with a yummy candy table. During the reception, the DJ grabbed Maria to let her know there was a rainbow outside. Wait until you see the last photo to see the spectacular shot that was captured of the bride and groom {Erin & TJ}.

The brides "something blue" was her heels with a gorgeous rhinestone on each.
